- PHYSICAL CONDITION
The practice of BJJ and other associated activities (such as judo, self-defense, MMA, boxe, crossfit, yoga, ginastica natural… and other outdoor activities : freediving or snorkeling) within our sport association BJJ GOZO requires that your are in good health. Any member or any practitionner who join our classes, open mat or any of our sports activities agree that they train at their own risk and that they are the sole responsible of their health and aptitude in practicing BJJ. As a combat sport it requires to warm up properly, exercise regularly and commit to your BJJ trainings.

When you register, we have also a section where you can inform us about your medical history. Your coach will be more than happy to help you, so don’t hesitate to have a chat with us.
We are here to make the practice of BJJ accessible to anyone, with a safe and friendly environment to learn. If you have any question don’t hesitate to reach us here, thank you.
2. COMMUNITY SPIRIT
BJJ GOZO is a Martial Arts Academy based on a community spirit and understanding of the BJJ culture and lifetsyle. It is unlike any sports, it requires a bit of consistency so you progress and in the same time we need to have you on the mat as you and every student need partners to train! To preserve the quality of the training, the friendly and safe aspect of the practice the coach/professor reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone who would not respect the Academy rules explained in these T & C.
3. COMMITMENT FOR THE STUDENT :
- Please read the 10 tips for beginners here. Also all our information are on our website. We are using a group chat both on WhatsApp and Signal here for daily updates.
- Attend the classes and promotions. If you can’t attend a message is very appreciated on our group chats (WhatsApp or Signal).
- Have clean bjj gears, short fingernails and toenails… Please leave your shoes at the entrance of the dojo. If necessary wash your feet (and/or hands) before training (we are very careful about cleanliness). We step bare feet on the mats.
- Take the time to warm up properly your body before starting. Always warmup the neck, joints, wrist, toes, your overall body… And drink, eat bananas (or whatever you know is good)! Take care to avoid cramps, muscle stiffness or pain. During your first months of bjj you will discover new ways to move and you may feel it more or less, that is normal. Don’t hesitate to inform your coach about any health issue, limitation or if you have any question, he is here to help and guide you in your bjj journey.
- Always respect your partners, be polite and salute when you step in/out the mat. The salute performed upon entering a dojo symbolizes respect for the place of practice, the founder of the art, the teacher (Sensei) and partners. It marks the transition between the outside world and the sacred space of the dojo, where specific rules, based on discipline, mutual respect and concentration, apply.
- Learn about the bjj history, culture and judo code of conduct. It is becoming a quite popular sport inspired by both the japanese martial arts and the brazilian culture. It is a mix of very friendly, warmful approach integrating a millenar discipline. You can find an example of a description of the bjj history and culture here.

Your monthly recurring membership is valid for 6 month (you can have a discount when you pay 3 or 6 months in advance). You can pause or stop it after 6 months.
